Overview
Aluminum heating / cooling block for even transfer of heat or cold around inserted tubes. The mixed-format layout provides 16 positions for larger tubes and 32 positions for PCR tubes.
Compatible with 1.5 mL and 2.0 mL conical or round-bottom tubes, multiple cryotubes, and 0.1 mL and 0.2 mL PCR tubes and strips.
The dedicated PCR positions help keep small tubes upright and contained during handling, reducing the chance of tipping or accidental spills.

Why we chose it
Two tube formats, one block.
Larger sample tubes can stay next to PCR tubes or strips when sample preparation and amplification happen side by side, without setting up separate racks for each format.
I also like that the PCR positions keep small tubes upright rather than letting them roll around or tip over. Small tubes have a talent for creating surprisingly large problems when they are not properly held.
