Overview

Glass chromatography columns are easier to handle when they have a dedicated place on the bench. Hold Upp is a magnetic click-in holder designed to attach to a suitable steel panel, keeping the column in a convenient position during laboratory work.

One compact clip accommodates three column outer diameters: 10, 14 and 20 mm. The screw-fixed permanent magnet allows the holder to be moved and repositioned on steel surfaces without permanently fixing a rack in place.

Click in. Hold in place. Move when needed.

Instead of reserving bench space for a conventional column stand, Hold Upp uses an available steel panel as the mounting surface. The contoured clip accommodates common glass-column sizes while keeping the holder small enough to relocate as the workflow changes.

The product is printed in PETG and assembled with a neodymium magnet. It is designed and manufactured by Assay Upp AB in Sweden.

Care & safety

  • Clean with water, 20% or 70% ethanol, or a mild detergent.
  • Avoid acetone, chlorinated solvents and prolonged contact with strong bases such as NaOH.
  • Do not autoclave; keep product temperature at or below 60 °C.
  • Contains a strong permanent magnet. Keep away from magnetically sensitive equipment, magnetic storage media and magnet-sensitive implanted medical devices.

Check secure attachment and stability for your specific column, mounting surface and setup before use.

Why 3D printing?

Small laboratory accessories often benefit from being developed around a specific workflow rather than a universal stand. PETG additive manufacturing makes it practical to produce and refine a compact, purpose-built holder in small series.
