A simple staining jar, with one less loose part to manage.
The hinged lid stays with the jar, which is useful when several baths are arranged as a deparaffinization or dehydration sequence.
It is still deliberately basic labware: a 25-slide rack, a 300 mL jar, and a format that is easy to understand and replace.
